this had been a fun weekend! nev got to celebrate valentine's day with her family and got to go for a run and bike ride all in the same day! she rode bikes with aunt stacey, uncle mark, daddy and mommy to the local farmer's market for lunch! we all had a good time and enjoyed the beautiful weather! she got some fun valentine's from her indiana family and phoenix family! thanks!
then today she had 2 birthday parties to attend. she went to gavin fernandes party first and the to maya vogelson's party! it was a fun day! she was asleep in the car after the second party even before i had her strapped all the way into her carseat! so much playing and excitement wore her out!
nev is now walking pretty well and has been since the 10th of february. she likes to walk while holding onto the wall or going from one piece of furniture to the next! she has taken many steps on her own too! she likes to walk more when she is on a soft surface...and knows the fall won't be so hard on her knees!
she loves to be chased and will start laughing when we come after her! she also has been blowing kisses randomly lately! she was very good at doing this on valentine's day. it was like she knew it was a holiday about love. she also loves to give out lots of hugs! that is the first thing she does when i pick her up from school! she has been very cuddley too and will now take the time to stay put while someone is holding her to give hugs or just lay her head on their chest. it is very cute and feels so surreal when i am the one holding her and she does it!
nev continues to visit grandma and grandpa black at their house and they continue to help out. they have picked her up a few times from school now too. aunt stacey got to go too one time and see where she plays and learns all day! she likes to play with grandma and grandpa's cork coasters. we pretend they are cookies and she likes to hand them to people in the room to share. she will then take them back too as if she never meant to share!
nev and i kind of helped out aunt stacey one day when she was still recovering from her tonsilectomy. really what happened is that nev got to play with "cousin" duncan (stacey's dog) and got tons of kisses from him! nev will say "woo, woo" when she sees a dog or hears a dog bark. she also continues to respond with "woo" when we ask her what a doggie says.
"school" continues to go well and joe and i are happy with the care she is receiving. the teachers seem to do a great job! she recently got her picture taken at "school" while wearing a cowboy outfit and sitting on a pony! the photos are funny! the staff stated she did a great job as all the other kids her age broke out in tears when put on the horse and she didn't! she also had her first parent/teacher conference and got a "report card." they stated she is "very smart and an easy child." the teachers are glad that they will have her in their room for another year! they are working with her on taking items out of a container and then putting then back in the container! they also noted that she loves visiting with the "grandfriends." the campus has a daycare and senior living so the two groups meet-up frequently. she loves to sing and dance with the grandfriends and all the "grandma's" at the center were very excited when they noticed she was standing and walking on her own!
life continues to be busy while joe and i are still trying to figure out a routine now that i am back to work full-time. we have had a few hairy moments (i.e. like last week when i left for work and still had the carseat in my car...and joe was taking nev to school that morning...ooops!) but overall we are staying patient and figuring it out! nonetheless, we are having a great time being parents and watching how fast nev changes and learns! she has a great sense of humor and a very sweet demeanor! if all the kids i have are this good i could have at least 3-4! well...maybe...but i have a feeling i will change my mind about that! :)
