well, nev is now 13 months old (and 2 weeks). she continues to amaze joe and i on a daily basis. she has been walking well on her own since february 2oth. it is weird to leave the room and have her follow along behind on her own.
she still loves to sing and dance and showed her skills off to grandma and grandpa black last weekend. she swings her arms around and sometimes will bounce up and down with her legs! she also moves her hands around in circles. she showed her dancing skills to "aunt" tammy and "uncle" mike who came in town from boston. tammy and mike will be getting married here in phoenix (both used to live here and tammy and i became best friends quickly after finding each other via an internet, running partner website)...so congrats to them! nev blushes when she is around mike and just loves both of them. i was worried she would take awhile to warm up to both of them...but nope...she was showing off for tammy immediately in her crib at bedtime and started charming mike even quicker! we had a nice visit with them both! nev even got to go wedding dress shopping with tammy and i. after watching tammy go from the dressing room out into the lounge area to view her dress on the podium...nev decided it was her turn and walked over to the podium and crawled up to look at herself in the mirror too! it was funny! she did happen to be wearing a dress that day...which has been a new thing since she has been walking! she doesn't get to wear dresses during the week since she goes to "school" so on the weekends i am excited to "dress" her up!
in other news...dr. seuss had a birthday on monday, march 2nd. nev got to wear her pj's to school to celebrate and i got to go in and read a book to the class. i didn't think the kids would have much of an attention span but they all sat around me and paid attention! it was so endearing! other parents went in throughout the day to read too!
nev continues to have an ear infection in one ear. she is now on her third different antibiotic and also received a shot at the doctor's office last time too. the doctor mentioned that if it wasn't better by mid-April we would need to consider tubes in her ears. so we will see...i just want it to go away because all of the medicine gives her bad diaper rash.
we continue to enjoy great weather on the weekends and go for family runs and bike rides! nev definitely loves to be outdoors and gets mad at times when we force her to come inside. she has had about 5 "golf" lessons with joe at the biltmore golf course and a few at home. she does like the idea of hitting a ball around...but doesn't quite have the hand eye coordination yet. she pretty much just likes to pick up the ball and throw it...sometimes in front of her and other times behind her!
this coming friday i have the day off...so grandpa cal, nev, and i plan to go to the zoo! it should be fun! this will be her second trip and hopefully we will get to see the new stingray exhibit! yippee!
