yesterday, nev, grandpa cal and i all went to the phoenix zoo! it was a gorgeous day outside and we all had lots of fun! thanks to uncle rob, aunt beth, cousins mia and elle for the zoo membership! we will be using it a lot! nev saw lots of animals but it seemed her favorites were the elephant, ducks, turkey, goats, and wallabies! she would say "oooh, oooh" when she saw them. she liked seeing all the kids at the zoo too and would watch them intently and then wave to them!
we enjoyed lunch at the zoo too and nev ate her grilled cheese like an adult by holding part of it and taking bites out of it (even though she still doesn't have any teeth)!. she also drank her milk out of a cup with a straw! she was proud of herself for that accomplishment! she just needs to learn not to tip the cup too much (like she has to do with a sippy cup) because it was leaking! then when she would take her mouth off the straw she would flick it and some milk would go sailing into the air! it was funny!
she has been making herself laugh lately...I am usually not sure what is so funny but she sure does! it is good because she entertains herself! she likes to get on the train she has and go for rides (me pushing her) or just sit on it and try to make it move! that makes her laugh too!
last, she has started saying "bopa" for "grandpa" when she sees grandpa cal. this morning she even woke up asking for him because yesterday when she woke up from her nap he was here so we could go to the zoo. she was saying, "bopa? bopa? shlee bopa?" i don't know if this will stick but none of us mind because that is what stacey and i called our grandpa...now it makes sense where it came from!
