my summer vacation started off with an airplane ride to chicago, il! i was counting down the days for 2 weeks before my big airplane ride. then, once i was in chicago i got to see my grandma peggy and grandpa tobey. they took me to do all sorts of fun things in chicago. we went on a trolley ride and rode in a water taxi boat! i went to navy pier again and to millennium park to play in the water! i also love to watch all of the activity from the condo window and look at all the buildings! mommy and daddy took me to the american girl store to get a new outfit for my bitty baby! i picked out a pretty summer outfit for her!
my vacation continued with a car ride down to crawfordsville, indiana from chicago. it was fun riding in the car with everyone! i sang some of my favorite songs (old macdonald had a farm, farmer and the dell, baa baa black sheep, no more monkeys, and the sunday/monday song) to entertain everyone! once we got to grandma and grandpa's house the first thing i did was play t-ball and ride a bike. i had 3 different bikes to choose from and one is even a race car with a brake! i ended up liking the one with training wheels the most and did have my first bike accident when riding around the neighborhood! i fell off and cried but after putting ice on my owie for a little bit i asked if i could go back and ride my bike again! i'm pretty brave!
while in crawfordsville i enjoyed swinging on the neighbors swing set, playing grocery store, pretending to grill food, playing with neighborhood kids, and watching daddy play with his old remote control car! i took baths in an actual size bathtub and got to spread out and pretend i was at my swim lessons. i would flip over and pretend to float and then roll back over and pretend to swim to the side of the pool! i have always liked baths but this is even better!
i also got to go to uncle rob, aunt beth, mia and elle's house for dinner and for my very first slumber party! at dinner mia, elle and i put on a dance show! i liked to copy all of the dance moves that my cousins showed me! i was pretty good at keeping up with them! then cousin elle and i got to play in the bath together, i stayed up late with mia and elle singing songs, and the next day i got to see mia at swim lessons! it was so fun and we all slept together in the same room! the next day grandma peggy met up with us at steak and shake for lunch and i ate A TON! i think i worked up an appetite at my cousins house!
i also was treated to my very own art lesson with a kindergarten teacher! i made a bowl out of construction paper, a clay owl, and drew lots of pictures! thank you grandma peggy and grandpa tobey! i also participated in the "tradition" with grandpa tobey! this tradition includes going for coffee, donuts and then to the drugstore to pick out some mints! he does this with his other two granddaughters when he has a chance and i got to come along this time as well! i picked out a chocolate donut and orange tic tacs for my treats! i really like this tradition!
during our indiana trip, the entire family went to turkey run state park to hike and have a picnic lunch. it was really humid and i took off my shirt and shorts while hiking and just walked around in my underwear! i told mommy i was "sweaty" and "needed to take a shower to wash my toes, ankles, legs, and armpits!" i hiked almost 2 miles and ran about a mile of it with my cousins! after the picnic and hiking i went home to help grandma peggy plan a pizza party for everyone that night. i like to help in the kitchen and also watch everything that is happening. i sit on the counter so i can see and assist!
in addition, i attended the strawberry festival with my aunt beth, mia, elle, mommy and daddy! i played lots of games, rode a pony, watched dancers, ate junk food, and got to bounce up and down while harnessed to bungee cords! i was barely big enough to do it! my cousins got to do it first and i didn't want to be left out! there was so much to do and i had so much fun with my cousins!
i had a few playdates in crawfordsville too! i played with cameron james (the son of mommies good friend from high school) and played with kal, reece, and layla myers (the kids of daddies good friend from high school). i also had a playdate with some 3 week old, labradoodle puppies in the neighborhood! i was able to hold them and gave them lots of kisses!
another special treat was going to a farm! i called it "old macdonalds farm" but really it is the farm of scott and wendy feller! i helped cut broccoli, lettuce, snap peas, and berries! i also got to see some chickens, sheep and pigs! it was fun and i didn't mind getting dirty or helping out!
in other news, i am very independent and get upset if someone tries to help me. sometimes i throw a fit and will just keep saying "i don't...i don't" meaning i don't want help or to do what is asked anymore. i also like to wear lipstick (aka chapstick) and have begun complimenting people (especially aunt she she) on his/her shoes, purses, clothes, etc. i also like attention and will say, "look at me, look at me" while i show off. i like to call myself a "big girl" and never want to miss out on any fun! i am still bossy but have gotten better about saying please unprompted when ordering someone around! :)
i just met my first newborn baby, lucy coover, last weekend. she was a week old and i got to hold her! i kept giving her kisses and would talk to her in a sweet little voice. i go to bed now at 7pm and awake up around 5:30am. i still take one nap for about 2-3 hours but otherwise i am very resilient and pretty flexible with my schedule!
last weekend we were back home in phoenix and celebrated father's day with boppa, mai mai, mommy, daddy and aunt she she. i swam in boppa and mai mai's pool for a long time and had a blast. prior to that i wouldn't swim because the water was too cold. now that it is warm i am swimming, jumping off the steps and the side of the pool! i even got aunt she she to jump off the side with me too! i was pretty proud of myself because i think i taught her how to do it! :)
