i had always heard parents say that kids are "like little sponges because they can soak up so much information." i am definitely a firm believer of this as nev has been such a little sponge lately. i'm not sure if i notice this more now as she can communicate better or if it is actually a developmental aspect. either way, she learns so much every day. she knows all the names of the kids in her class at school, is working on knowing her colors, mimics most animal noises when seeing the animal and is signing part of the abc song. she will copy movements, words, vocal intonation, facial experessions...just about anything you can imagine!
she is such a performer when people are around and loves to entertain. her teachers at school asked if we exercised with her because when they do exerices in the classroom she is practically leading everyone and is the motivator for all of them to keep going! speaking of exercise...she mastered how to do a forward somersault about 2 weeks ago and loves to do them at boppa and mai mai's house where there is carpet (since we only have concrete floors)!
while she is a little sponge...she also likes to stick by my side (mommy). she follows me around and has some fits if other people want to hold her or put her to bed. she wakes up each morning saying..."mommmyyy...mommy. mommy. moooommmyy." it is cute and endearing but i don't know if i have ever heard the word "mommy" so many times in a day (although i imagine this could get worse)!?!
in other news, she got her 11th tooth recently and i think she weighs 24 lbs. now (she weighed 25 lbs. with her boots, jeans, sweater and winter coat on). so she is growing! she is loving the christmas decorations at boppa and mai mai's house, the christmas tree at home, the snowman that lights up in her room, and reading about santa! she likes to say "ho, ho, ho!" we are all looking forward to the holiday festivities this month and i am sure she will continue to soak up the new experiences just like a little sponge!
