it has been awhile since i've updated the journal. a lot has happened in a few short weeks. grandma peggy came to visit me for a few days earlier this month. she brought me some gifts from my friend wyatt motz...i love the elmo radio! thanks wyatt and grandma peggy! we went to the wildlife world zoo with mommy too and i got to hang out with grandma peggy and her friend, sue! i also met sue's daughter, lauren, who might be a potential babysitter for me! oh boy! grandma peggy made me dinner and played with me...i was sad to see her go. mommy and daddy told me she would be coming back though with grandpa tobey in november...so that makes me happy!
then, bappa and mai mai came back from their 7 week midwest adventure! i was excited to see them and showed off by dancing around and making silly faces! i can now say, "i love you mai mai" or "i love you bappa."
i also went on a bike ride with aunt she she and uncle mark one weekend. we rode our bikes to a restaurant for dinner. i had a hard time sitting still because i kept wanting to sit in between she she and mark and not by mommy and daddy! i am sneaky and know how to get what i want!
then, i turned 21-months old this past tuesday (oct. 20th). i will almost be 2 years old...it is hard to believe! i can say 3-5 word sentences now. i can copy almost all words immediately after i hear it. some new words i tried out this week for the first time are mountain, funny, swim suit, and swimming pool. i continue to have good manners and say "thank you" a lot without being asked. i say "scuse me" (aka excuse me) when it is appropriate and will also say it for someone else if they don't say it quick enough. i do say please as well but usually if someone asks me too. i am picky about my snacks and like to pick them out myself. i like to have things left in the wrapper or not cut up (i.e. whole apple or banana in the peel). i still like to clean and help mommy as much as i can. i tend to follow her around all the time and can be "clingy" with mommy right now.
a few more random updates...i love being sung too before bed...i will say "more sing" and i definitely know the "order" of our bedtime routine as i will state what we are doing next. sometimes i am picky with what song i want mommy to sing too! i like to have my blankie tucked in around me when i lay down in bed and my new favorite stuffed animal is an elephant called, ellie. i usually will tell mommy now once i have gone potty...so now we have to work on figuring out how to tell her before i actually go potty. i have some books that i like to read because i know all of the objects in the book by name. one of my favorite pictures is of a kitty cat...i call them "menow's." i still love to draw and play chase!
i also went to a pumpkin patch for the first time this past weekend. mai mai and she she went with mommy and me. i got to play in a big area of dried corn, ride in a choo choo train, pick out pumpkins, go through a corn maize, hold a baby chicken, play with an old water pump, and see lots of other animals too! i was really tired after all of the festivities! then that night we had dinner at bappa and mai mai's house and i got some gifts from their trip! i watched as everyone else got a beautiful red bag handed to them...and then one was handed to me! my eyes lite up with delight and i was so proud and happy that i got one too! mommy told me i had the cutest look on my face when i got my bag!
i also went on a family hike today. jet had never been in the mountain since she has been "in training" but she did a great job. she loved it and i loved watching her have so much fun! i also helped daddy with some plants today. i ended up planting 4 different plants with him. i got a little dirty and went to wash my feet in the pool and decided i wanted to play in the water. so, i took all my clothes off (with some help from mommy) and played in the pool. i was so tired from the weekend that at 5pm i was ready for bed. i could barely stay awake during dinner!
next week we have a halloween parade at school. i get to wear my costume! i'm excited! i also plan to do some trick-or-treating this year.
