it is hard to believe that at this time last year my belly was bursting and i was on bed rest because of nev! joe and i were getting antsy for her to come and i was going crazy (partly because of the hormones) because her nursery wasn't done yet. boy...A LOT has happened since then!
she is getting ready for daycare in a few weeks and next week grandparents herzog come out for a visit. we are looking forward to that and having her show off her "tricks." she is now starting to say "doe" when she means "no." she will shake her head "no" too while she says it. i keep trying to teach her how to say "yes" but that has not worked. :)
she has one of those wooden stacking ring toys with the skinny pole in the middle. she is able to put the rings back on the pole now. it takes a few tries but she can do it. she continues to eat any food and has now tried eggs. i think the only thing left to try is whole milk and citrus fruits. those things will be coming soon. today i took her out to lunch again at a mexican joint and let her try the refried beans. of course she liked them! that will be an occasional indulgence! grandma marsha made nev her second, personal homemade pizza this past week! nev really likes them!
grandma marsha and i made a handprint christmas ornament with nev recently. that was an experience...she kept wanting to squeeze the clay through her hands instead of gently placing her hand in it! after about 4 tries we got a good print. joe even said we could hang that ornament on the tree next year (he doesn't like ornaments...so this was a big deal...he is becoming a softy!).
she continues to take 1-2 naps per day (one an hour and a half after waking up and one around 1:30pm). she still goes to bed at 6pm and sleeps until 7am. she will only be getting one nap at "school" so that will be interesting!
i am planning a small birthday party for her coming up. i know she is going to be very messy as she likes to play with her food and get all dirty! so the cake will be a big hit!
