this past week nev had a visit from her great aunt kay and great uncle rich. they live in illinois but also have a place in las vegas so they drove down from vegas to meet nev and visit some friends. she liked staring at them and having someone else hold her for awhile!
nev's grandma and grandpa black also came back from indiana. they got into town this weekend and will stay for a week! nev has already been giving grandpa cal some sly and very cute little smiles and looks! he is in trouble! and nev has been laughing (no noise really comes out but it is more than just a smile) with grandma marsha and has been busying playing with her!
nev will now follow people as they move around the room (not at too far of a distance) and will grab onto things more regularly and for a longer duration (i.e. a rattle, parts on her mobile, etc.). she is establishing somewhat of a more regular nap routine and sleeping from 6:30pm (bedtime) to 1:30am and then up again once more to eat (around 4am) and then up for the day at 7 or 7:30am. the books consider babies sleeping 5-6 hours "sleeping through the night," i however, do not consider this sleeping through the night! sleep has definitely gotten better for me though!
nev was feeling different textures with her feet this week (grass, rocks, pool water, pool deck, carpet, etc.). when i held her she would place some weight on her legs. she also took the initative to place one foot in front of the other and "walk" when she was in the grass!
she is now 2 1/2 months old and weighs 11 lbs. she is starting to get some little "rolls" on her legs and her cheeks are getting chubbier! as always...she gets cuter everyday!
i went to run an errand today while nev was napping and when i came home aunt stacey and grandma marsha had some news for me! they went in to check on nev when she started making noise in her crib and watched her swing her legs in the air and roll over from her back to stomach. yikes...i am not sure this is a good thing or not!
