nev has been experiencing a lot of "first" events recently (i.e. last journal entry with her first hike and run). she has had even more since then so it has been fun! she had her first play date (see photos) with courtney and jessica berman and maya vogelson! she is the youngest of the group and loved watching the older girls play! she even enjoyed spending time with zima, the berman's dog! she was worn out by the time we ate lunch and fell asleep in my arms!
another first is that she has laughed a few times now! i overheard her laugh with esperanza, the nanny, one morning while i got ready for work. it is really cute but she is selective when she decides to do it! she has also been into sucking her toes recently...yet another first!
in addition to these "first" events she just started rice cereal this past friday. i wanted to wait until after our trip to indiana but she has started waking up during the night hungry. so i figured it might be a good time to start so maybe she will sleep through the night again (which i would appreciate again). she is still trying to figure out how to swallow the food and she ends up a complete mess but it is so fun to watch! she will open her mouth like a little bird waiting to be fed at times!
yet another first...she went on her first family run this weekend! joe, nev, phoenix and i all ran to grandma and grandpa blacks future house which is just over 2 miles away (nice and close)! then once we got there she dipped her toes into the pool while phoenix got in to cool off too!
the last "firsts" are that she will be going on her first vacation and first plane ride this coming week! we are all going back to indiana to see family and friends! we are looking forward to it!
