nev will be 16 months old tomorrow! she had an exciting past week...highlighted by meeting two famous people. it started when she attended my work health and wellness event last saturday and got to meet swimming olympic gold medalist, misty hyman. misty even helped her run her first race! yes, that is right...she competed against other kids in a 100 meter dash! it was hilarious as she stood at the starting line for 20 seconds after all the kids took off running! finally, after encouragement from misty, grandma marsha, grandpa cal, aunt stacey and me she started running and even won her age group! okay, so she the only one in her age group! :) she got to stand on a podium to recieve her medal and got her picture taken with misty! she also helped cheer on my co-workers in a 3.75 mile race. she was yelling "go" at them when they ran by! it was cute!
then, on monday she meet the singer alice cooper at the arizona biltmore resort restaurant. she had tubes put in both of her ears earlier that morning at the phoenix children's hospital and we decided to take her to breakfast afterwards for doing such a great job! he came up to our table and commented on how cute she is!
due to her surgery on monday we have put her swimming lessons on hold until her check-up in a few weeks. actually, we will be going back to indiana soon to visit our indiana family so we will pick up her swim lessons after we return! we are looking forward to our upcoming trip!
other recent events include having a playdate with maya vogelson. nev and maya went swimming, played with baby dolls, and had lunch! it was a lot of fun! nev has two more teeth coming in on the top...this will make 6 total soon! she has some new words including: cheese, rob, beth, go, poo, and shoe! the last month or so she also has been following all directions we give her....such as put your toys away! she also has started throwing fits when she does not like something. she will lay down on the ground and cry until she realizes that no one is paying attention and then she will stop! as always, we are having fun!!
