nev has been a busy little girl lately. she had her first easter egg hunt and loved it! she even got a golf bag for easter from grandma marsha and aunt stacey! they won it by purchasing raffle tickets at grandma's school function! daddy was very happy! she has also attended her first phoenix gay pride festival so we could cheer on a friend in the volleyball tournament! she loved watching the ball fly through the air! in addition, she went to swim practice with me again so she could play with her "old" friends from last summer and attend the swimming bbq. she even got to meet another new friend, two month old, lily so! today we went swimming in the pool at home and she had a great time! she was splashing all over the place and loved to walk around in the play bench/shallow area of our pool! we are considering some intense swim classes for her (infant swim resource) so that she is ready for the summer...we will see!
she is cutting another tooth right now (the upper left). the doctor stated that 4 of her top teeth are all getting ready to come in, as well as the second tooth on her bottom gums. she will point to her tooth when asked..."show me your tooth?" and she will go to the bathroom and reach for her toothbrush when i tell her it is time to brush her tooth. it is amazing to see her follow directions! she will also walk to the laundry room when we tell her it is time for her bath (we use the sink in that room for her bath), and walk to her room when told it is time to change her diaper! yippee! this is so fun and rewarding!
in terms of the doctor...she had her 15-month well check today. she weighs 19 lbs. and 5 oz. and is 30 inches long. he stated her vocabulary is that of an 18+ month old child since she can say 10-15 words now. he stated most kids only say 2-3 at this point! that is my girl...(i have to brag a little)! and speaking of words, she now says "duhn" when she is done eating. she will try to push the tray away and then says "duhn."
since i am braging...lately we have had numerous people tell us that she looks just like a doll. of course i am biased and think she is adorable but it is such a nice compliment for people to say!
tomorrow nev goes to visit an ear, nose, and throat doctor with grandma marsha and grandpa cal as neither joe or i could take her. the next appointment wasn't until beginning of june so we didn't want to pass it up. she still has a double ear infection and since it has been 3 months now and they haven't gone away, the doctor stated it was time to take it to the next level. so we will see what happens!
