nev turned 14 months old yesterday! yikes! she is so adorable right now and SO much fun! last weekend we took a trip to show low, arizona to enjoy the white mountains and to take nev sledding at sunrise ski resort! it was her first experience with snow! she didn't know what to think at first when we set her down in the snow...she didn't know whether to laugh or cry. it was hilarious!
she also went to her first spring training game yesterday. she saw the giants beat the white sox! sorry grandpa tobey...but we were happy since we are cubs fans! it was a gorgeous day and nev seemed to have a good time! we went with aunt stacey and grandma and grandpa black.
nev has also had fun with "flat stanley" lately. cousin mia sent him in the mail for a school project so we have been entertaining him before he has to go back to indiana. for those of you who don't know...flat stanley is a character in a book and he gets cut out of paper and sent to another city to enjoy some adventures! so, mia sent him to us! we feel honored!
some other updates...nev started cutting her first tooth on thursday, march 19th. it is barely popping through but you can definitely feel it and see it a little bit. it is one of the bottom front teeth. she has expanded her vocabulary to: hi, bye, nigh nigh, and baby. she also likes to roll over on the ground and pretend she is going "nigh nigh." she loves to play on beds and roll around in the pillows. she can crawl on and off our bed now pretty good since it is fairly low to the ground.
she eats just about everything despite no teeth. she got to try corned beef this past week at grandma marsha's house as she made it for st. patrick's day. nev really liked it! she likes to have bigger pieces of food to hold on to and take bits from it...such as crackers, bread, small pancakes, etc.
we also found out within the last 2 weeks that she is allergic to penicillin medicines. she has broken out in rashes pretty bad twice now while taking penicillin medicine for an ear infection. her ear infection cleared up at least and now we know to stay away from that type of prescription.
other than that...things are going well! she continues to love school and on friday when i picked her up early for the baseball game i told her to wave goodbye to her friends. well, she did and most of them were laying down in their cots getting ready for a nap and they waved goodbye to her. it was the sweetest thing...friends, without really even talking or playing with one another yet!
